With expansive knowledge, solid English, and a good sense of humor, he taught and entertained a bus-full of adults and children for several days. He covered topics related to world history, religion, geology, politics, and culture, all the while showing a sensitivity and respect for differences in faith communities and opinions. He warmly welcomed all questions and astutely answered them. It became a challenge for us tourists to try to come up with a question he couldn't answer!

The days were full with a great deal of walking, climbing, and chatting, but Mickey seemed not to tire or lose his enthusiasm or patience with us. He greatly enriched our family's experience in Israel. We strongly recommend him as a tour guide."

"Mickey is in class of his own... Mickey recently organized and led a 5-day expedition for us and a group of 25 friends and relatives who accompanied us to Israel. The tour was entirely organized by Mickey – down the smallest details – and resulted in perhaps the most memorable of all our many visits to Israel. Mickey, as you tour the country with him, operates simultaneously on a very sophisticated level while remaining accessible to those with little background in Israel and or religion. This was critical in the case of our group, which was a combination of Jews, Catholics, Protestants, as well as those with no religious background or understanding of Israel and Jewish history at all.
Mickey 's broad professional and academic background makes him a very effective guide for mixed groups such as ours, because he intuitively can empathize with different perspectives and backgrounds. He is not a ‘one size fits all’ guide, prone to dogma or a particular vantage point. Instead, Mickey listens and adjusts to his guests’ interests and backgrounds.
Altogether, we cannot recommend Mickey enough as a guide or tour group leader.
He has a breadth of knowledge and experience that make him a particularly good match for groups are interested in probing below the surface of what they are seeing, and engaging in two-way discussions. He is comfortable and able to guide mixed groups – of all religions and backgrounds.
Mickey will work closely with you to tailor the trip to your interests and backgrounds. He invests heavily in preparation for your specific trip and does not rely on pre-packaged materials. Mickey's high level of planning and logistical expertise, as an added bonus, mean that he can arrange a customized and seamless trip that allows you to enjoy what you are seeing and learning, without being distracted."
